Meet my Client

Meet my client, The Bradfield Community Center. The Bradfield Community Center has a rich history dating back to 1938. It was founded to provide recreational opportunities for Lima’s Black Community, who otherwise had no access to programs that encouraged personal development. Through the decades, the Bradfield has developed a reputation as the hub for community life. From basketball to volleyball to Miss Opportunity Pageants to computer literacy classes, the Bradfield offers it all. Today, the Bradfield serves all members of the Lima community while continuing to fulfill the vision of its early founders. The Bradfield hopes to continue to serve as an important resource for youth, seniors and people at all stages of life in the Lima Community. While the Bradfield has endured some deeply challenging financial circumstances, the Bradfield is emerging with a stronger-than-ever commitment to serve the community. While a state-of-the-art facility is not at the heart of their mission, it would open doors to new opportunities ands ways to serve the community. Their vision for the future is “a renovated center with state-of-the-art facilities bustling with young people; busy exercise classes that meet participants’ physical and social needs; education programming that challenges and inspires students of all ages; and partnerships with institutions that elevate our mission and strengthen our community.” The Bradfield has been rejuvenated before and with community support, I have no doubt it can be done again. While there is still a lot of work to be done, the Bradfield took their first step towards a new chapter by painting the new Bradfield logo on the basketball court. I am excited to be a part of their journey and help welcome people back to the Brad.
