Twitter Assignment
This assignment was my first-time using Twitter and I was amazed at how easy it was to learn how to navigate the platform and make posts. I was able post updates about the parade for about 20 minutes consecutively. All I had to do was hit the plus sign, type my thoughts out and hit “tweet” for all the world to see what I was thinking.
It was convenient for this assignment; however, considering
we live in world with about 8 billion people, which means there are about 8
billion different opinions and perspectives, I don’t think it is always a
positive thing that we can share out thoughts with the world so easily. Once
again, there are many pros and cons to social media, but that’s not what we are
here to talk about today.
Back to the assignment, it was a beautiful day for a parade.
The sun was shining, the breeze was mild and there wasn’t a rain cloud insight.
The streets were lined with children eager to fill their bags with candy and
ONU alumni that were proud to call Ada home. The parade featured the Ada police
and EMS, the ONU and Allen County band, many ONU clubs, Greek life and last but
certainly not least, President Bauman.
It was great to see everyone out enjoying the day, but more
importantly representing ONU so well. The parade wasn’t much more than a
half-hour, but it was a half-hour full of polar bear pride. It was hard to keep
up with the tweets at time because the parade was moving quickly, however I was
still able to make an update about each major group that passed bye. Each tweet
was topped with the hashtag “#onuhc22” to group it with others sharing about
events going on around campus homecoming weekend. It was a great weekend to be
a polar bear!
Twitter is the easiest social media network that I have ever used. Saturday was a perfect day for all the homecoming activities and for all the alumni to be back in town enjoying themselves.
ReplyDeleteI agree it was very easy to use, it was also my first time! I found it stressful knowing people were only seeing my words! I will be using twitter in the future for sure!
