Strategic Visuals
Facebook is the most used social media platform with 2.91 billion monthly users. Of those users, 70% visit Facebook daily and 49% say they scroll on Facebook more than once a day. I am one of those users, but never realized what went into creating a Facebook post. The components of a Facebook post are strategically selected to create the best chance of consumer engagement. Let’s dive into selecting the right visuals to post.
There are many options when it comes to posting on Facebook.
You can choose from captions, links, GIFS and live videos to simply a photo or
video. Each serving a very important purpose, however we are going to stick to
the most common of visuals, photos and videos. Posts that contain a photo receive
53% more likes, 10% more comments and 84% more link clicks. Those are all great
interactions, however a visual that is outperforming photos is videos. How are
videos outperforming photos? Well, 79% of consumers would rather watch a video
to learn about a product than read text. Along with that, 84% of consumers are
convinced to purchase after watching a brand video. With the fall in organic reach,
it is even more crucial to post strategically. A couple things to help make
your videos more successful is when posting a video, make it play automatically when possible. Another
thing is vital to a successful video, is to add captions to videos because the majority
of videos are watched without sound. Next time you are scrolling through
Facebook, stop and see if you notice these components.
